Vanna walks across the stage and touches a lighted square on a display board that turns into a letter once she does and receives a over a million dollars a year for doing that task Monday through Friday for an hour each night.
Protesters in California close a port and have violent conflicts with law enforcement.
A sexual harassment leak brings down the Cain campaign but no one claims responsibility for playing dirty politics, even though former President Reagan said that Republicans should never attack Republicans. Sounds like a family problem to me.
Speaking of leaks, the Wikileaks founder is in trouble for the same claim as his pursuit of happiness declines.
The Greek Government is on the verge of collapse as already reported on this blog.
Madoff family argues about the truth and the K's claim the marriage was real whatever real might mean to them.
Colleges and Universities continue to raise tuition and student loans continue to rise as the prospects of reducing unemployment fades.
Savings accounts are moved from banks to credit unions and banks remove extra fees to save customers.
The people with money (not only the 1%) are buying up high priced homes at extremely reduced prices.
AARP members threaten to hammer the Government and Congress with their votes.
China secretly counts the number of US T-bills they own and smile.
Innocent children are physically abused by unemployed parents, so they have little chance of happiness.
Carol Graham, author of the book, The Pursuit of Happiness, An Economy of Well-Being (given to me on my birthday), provides statistical data that unemployed people are unhappy but unemployed people who hang around with other unemployed people are less unhappy. So, does this mean that protesters in NYC are less unhappy because they are together? The same holds true for obese people.
But, here is my question: Will Americans ever be happy and is achieving happiness not as important as our pursuit of the illusive concept?

One never does "achieve" happiness, it is only something to ment to be in pursuit of, and this is where the happiness lies. It is intended to be a constant and not a goal.
As for Americans (or anyone) in pursuit of happiness the test of happiness comes when we have something so good we must share it with others. That is when you know you are in the state of happiness. If it feels good to the individual such that one must share, then it is also good for the country or the rest of mankind.
If, in reality, we find something we feel is good but want it all to ourselves and only want more for ourselves then this is the contra to happiness.
