Too Good to Pass Up

You may conjecture that We Were Just Wondering is anti Republican and pro Democrat since many of our posts do not portray Republicans in a good light.  Well, that is a valid observation and an observation that I, myself, have noticed as well.  And, while I cannot speak for my partner, let me just say that I was raised as a liberal Democrat and over the years have moved more and more into the area of a strong, conservative Democrat or a weak Republican if you will allow me a little bit of creative freedom.

However, I am and will always be (as Spock would have said on Star Trek) a huge proponent and fan of EDUCATION at all levels.  I believe that knowledge is power and it is that power that enables seekers of knowledge to give value to their employers.

Not only that but knowledge provides this country with its only hope of a successful future, especially when the rest of the world is learning what Americans do not want to learn, namely math, science, technology, and engineering.

Therefore and without the slightest bit of reservation (political slant of this blog) I want to draw your attention to a comment that was made by Rick Santorum on 2/23/12 about college education.

DALLAS,Texas“Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum said Thursday that President Obama wants more young adults to go to college so they can undergo ‘indoctrination’ to a secular world view. On the president's efforts to boost college attendance, Santorum said, ‘I understand why Barack Obama wants to send every kid to college, because of their indoctrination mills, absolutely ... The indoctrination that is going on at the university level is a harm to our country.’ He claimed that ‘62 percent of kids who go into college with a faith commitment leave without it,’ but declined to cite a source for the figure.”

This comment is too good to pass up not just because of the ludicrous nature of it but because of the simple stupid nature of the comment. Why in God’s name would we ever want a leader, let alone a President who believes our sons and daughters should not go to college because it might change their faith?

This man is not just a jerk but an educational idiot.

Your partner disagrees with the blog not being balanced or favoring the Democrats. As I wrote in a email, newsmakers are top heavy with Republican primary news. It's a story that we should follow, if we wish to stay current with political events. Combing through some 300 posts it's clear you can't justify a claim of my bashing Republicans. Reporting what's out there is free to anyone; taking sides with Romney to help him get on track is not bashing him as a Republican. The thoughts you have are in your head alone as the blog doesn't show a bias to either party. It might, once Romney and Obama put the gloves on.

Yes, in my head, well maybe, but clearly your slant is Democratic, anti-business, anti-wall street, anti-globalization, pro wall street protesters.... you are lock-step with the party line.

If I post anything that steps on the toes of the Democratic Party then you are all about SNOPES but have never mentioned anything about any of my other posts.... which may or may not be accurate as well....

I really do not care about either the Republicans or the Democrats because both side have the mentality of the wealthy and seem to care very little about the middle class of America or Americans in general. If either side really did, we would not be in the situation that we are in....

America is a greedy, self-centered, selfish, me first country and both parties feed off of that family dysfunction.

But, if the people were to revolt they would not have the infrastructure as their disposal for permanent change - so we would likely get worse.

BUT, this is all in my head...
