Over the last few days after reading several comments, editorials, and opinions on the SNAFU at the American Consulate in Syria, I am fascinated by this country’s ability to generate pro/con commentary about virtually any situation that comes into view on our radar.
If and when the Republicans say something “stupid,” the Democrats spin it all types of ways and if and when the Democrats say something “stupid,” the Republicans spin it all types of ways. But, it is not just behavior between political parties; it is seen among professional athletes, movie stars, employees within a company, and competitors within an industry.
America has become confrontational.
No, that is not true actually…
America ALWAYS has been confrontational – that is her true nature – and is what has motivated her inhabitants to always challenge the status quo.
Husbands and wives are confrontational as are siblings, typically over issues that many of us would consider “trivial” or “petty,” but which represent pride or ego to those verbally engaged. Members within a Board of Directors; in fact, we have assigned the term of “nemesis stockholder” to that individual who intentionally undermines projects so that their project receives the scarce resources. Motorists are antagonistic towards one another, especially if one is driving slow in the fast lane and will not heed the speed of an incoming vehicle or when some is tailgating at high speeds.
But, it never ceases to amaze me in some of these confrontational moments, we hear,
“the correct number of assets were deployed,” in Syria at the American Consulate.
How can that be?
- Were the correct number of assets sent out with General Custer?
- Were the correct number of assets sent over to Vietnam?
- Were the correct number of assets sent to Iraq?
- Were the correct number of assets sent to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina?
AND,
- Do we have the correct number of assets fighting cybercrime or our war on drugs?
- Do we have the correct number of assets monitoring Wall Street or our Bankers?
- Do we have the correct number of assets taking care of our POOR?
- Do we have the correct number of assets to “reign-in” the greedy bastards that manage our companies at all socio-economic income levels?
- How many assets will be needed to force Democracy on the Middle East?
- How many assets will be needed to control China’s Army of 100,000,000?
- How many assets will be needed to offset the number of high IQ’s from India?
- How many assets will be needed to HALT globalization?
- How many assets will be needed to reduce America’s dependence upon OIL?
- How many assets will be needed to resist global JIHAD against US?
- How many assets will be needed to improve America’s educational system?
- How many assets will be needed to change America from being the largest consumer of illegal drugs worldwide?
THE
CORRECT NUMBER
OF ASSETS???
