Life on Earth

Lance Armstrong

While Lance Armstrong gets stripped of his Tour de France titles for doping, all five "Star Trek" captains united at a London convention this past Saturday.   William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula -- who have each commanded starship operations in their respective shows -- were brought together onstage at Destination Star Trek London.   Read more

While Indian activist Russell Means dies (see full story), Dolly Parton wants to land a spot on The Voice.  Country icon Dolly Parton is eager to land a job on TV talent show "The Voice." The "Jolene" singer has turned down a string of offers to be a judge on" American Idol" and "The X Factor," but admits she would jump at the chance to coach acts on the rival series.   Read more

While some of us make plans to dress up for Halloween, others make plans to cast their vote in the 2012 Presidential Election where the incumbent President faces a strong challenger in Mitt Romney.

Some say that it simply boils down to the fact of whether or not one wants Democrats or Republicans running the country more so than which person would do the best job.  Be that as it may be, I am not really convinced that either party or either man can actually change what has already been set into motion by the global economy, unless Americans not politics changes.

While Angelina Jolie invites Jane Goodall into her home  (watch video) the rest of us are wondering which team is going to win the World Series as we toss the hardball with our children in the backyard on the weekends cooking hotdogs on the grill. Didn’t the Monkeys have a song about that a few years back?

The point is that life goes on…
  • It does not matter that Osama bin Laden was assassinated because terrorism goes on…
  • It does not matter if the people in Syria revolt against those in control, the corrupt regime goes on…
  • It does not matter how many Americans lose their jobs, life all around them goes on…
Interestingly, our system whether domestic or global, has to be the way it is.
  • Without someone or something to hate and/or blame, life would be boring.
  • Without greed people, the global economy would improve but very, very slowly.
  • Without a poor class to manipulate, there would be no need for power and control.

There must be hate as well as love.
There must be hurt as well as forgiveness.
There must be wealthy as well as poor.
There must be male as well as female.
There must be elite as well as discrimination.
There must be intelligence as well as stupid.

And, the list goes on and on and on…

Try and change it if you will, and you will fail like all the others before you have done.  We have a perfectly balanced “human eco-system,” that is self-regulating, self-sustaining, and self-replacing.  Just like operators refresh their computers, so too do we refresh the planet’s inhabitants with wars, disease, and lack of food and water; otherwise, we simply would not have all the resources to allow everyone to live.

And, as long as we continue to want what others have, life on earth will never change.
