WE Benefit From Suffering

Have you ever thought about the mining of sulfur and its uses as it benefits our lives?

Whaaaaaat???

What are the uses of sulfur?
Elemental sulfur is used in black gunpowder, matches, and fireworks; in the vulcanization of rubber; as a fungicide, insecticide, and fumigant; in the manufacture of phosphate fertilizers; and in the treatment of certain skin diseases. The principal use of sulfur, however, is in the preparation of its compounds. The most important sulfur compound is sulfuric acid. Other important compounds include sulfur dioxide, used as a bleaching agent, disinfectant, and refrigerant; sodium bisulfite, used in paper manufacture; carbon disulfide, an important organic solvent; hydrogen sulfide, sulfur trioxide, and thionyl chloride, used as reagents in chemistry; Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate), used as a laxative, bath additive, exfoliant, and magnesium supplement in plant nutrition; the numerous other sulfate compounds; and sulfa drugs.

Do WE as either Americans or Global Citizens give a “damn” that our comfortable lifestyles are based upon, in part, on the suffering of others?

What is it, inside all of us, that allows or encourages us to look the other way when adverse situations that are not directly connected to us or to our families are observed or discovered?

Why is it so easy for US to take-for-granted our place and/or socio-economic status in the world?

The AVON Lady...

Closer to home is the fact that the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) is “going after”  AVON and LANCOME for making false claims that some of their products stop the aging process.  The FDA wants these cosmetic giants to “tone down” their advertising claims or they (FDA) will stop the sale of several products, resulting in the loss of millions and no doubt resulting in the loss of jobs; which, by-the-way has nothing to do with the Presidential election either before or after.
