Who We Are

The United States of America is just a little over 200 years old; actually, it is almost 237 and is still considered by the rest of the world to be a "babe in the woods."

The Roman Empire dates back to before the birth of Christianity (over 2,000 years) and the Greek Empire dates back to 1000 years before that.  The Chinese Dynasties date back over 5000 years.  All of these dynasties or empires have had decades of successes and decades of failures.

Yet America is still on the rise...  well, maybe it has hit a plateau.  And, it is yet to be seen how America will deal with that which is inevitable.  And, this is the real question that has been laid before us and is at the heart of our arrogance.

When it comes time for us to fall, will we do it gracefully or go down kicking and screaming?

Will we use our military power to keep that from happening?

Will we have the economic influence and power to pay for that aggression?

Interesting questions, I would say and hardly worth considering, I suppose, during this time of March Madness; still, that is just another silly aspect of who we are and what we have become...

Time will tell all and reveal all...
