Although, you may not recognize (left) these cast members outside of the action... the one on the far right, in a recent commercial, said the following:
"If they harm her in any way, kill them all."
As an adult, this phrase does not bother me and I am not sure why this phrase caught my attention because I do not watch the show, but it did... and, when it did, my first thought went to all those people, young and old, who cannot separate fantasy from fiction...
When we are airing commercials like this, are we indirectly endorsing this kind of behavior? Do we want our children and young adults to have this kind of mentality?
Do we assume that the general public at large has the ability to regulate and process information intelligently?
And... what if they don't?
