Joe Walsh, (R-IL) who came to town in the Tea Party sweep of
2010 became no stranger to the media as a loudmouth conservative and deadbeat
Dad. Since serving the 8th District he’s
done nothing to advance the job market there and in fact, signed a pledge by
Grover Norquist never to raise taxes.
His obstructionist views are supported by his votes. To win re-election he has blasted away at an
Iraqi War Hero trying to shift the facts away from the fact that Walsh never
served in the military and has done nothing in his two years in Congress other
than be an extremist loudmouth for the Tea Party.
A binge drinker, he’s even been caught on camera in bars
ranting about insane ways to bring down the national debt. One patron at the bar said, “He’s talking
crazy”.
Joe Walsh is crazy.
His opponent Tammy Duckworth, a former Black Hawk Pilot who lost both
her legs in Iraq when an RPG hit her helicopter in 2004 calls Walsh’s remarks
about her running on her military record “irresponsible”. Walsh went even further in his remarks
comparing Duckworth to John McCain and his war record, suggesting Duckworth “is
not a true hero”.
Hundreds of Iraqi War Veterans have called for his
resignation. The Cook Political Report,
a non-partisan handicapping service rates the Congressional seat as “Likely
Democratic”.
"He’s just trying to shift the focus away from the fact he’s
done nothing in his two years in Congress other than be an extremist loudmouth
for the tea party, and really he’s not served his district at all,” Duckworth
said. “I’m proud of my service. I’m proud that I have lived up to my
responsibilities to this nation in uniform, that I lived up to my
responsibilities as a public servant.” Duckworth
said for Walsh to “denigrate military service is very insulting.”“He’s using it for his own political gain. And our 23 million veterans have done more in one day in uniform than he’s done for this country,” she said. “He’s trying to muddy the waters. He’s just trying to shift the focus away from the fact he’s done nothing for the people of the district.”
