Let's Cancel 9/11

Ask yourself this: ten years into the post-9/11 era, haven't we had enough of ourselves?  If we have any respect for history or humanity or decency left, isn’t it time to rip the Band-Aid off the wound, to remove 9/11 from our collective consciousness?  No more invocations of those attacks to explain otherwise inexplicable wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and our oh-so-global war on terror.  No more invocations of 9/11 to keep the Pentagon and the national security state flooded with money.  No more invocations of 9/11 to justify every encroachment on liberty, every new step in the surveillance of Americans, every advance in pat-downs and wand-downs and strip downs that keeps fear high and the homeland security state afloat.

Without the band-aid, we'd have no place to re-direct our anger and no one to blame for all our ills.
Besides, doesn't lack of responsibility and blaming others unite us together?

The War on Terrorism was never intended to be won - it is another "Cold War" and an economic gold mine.

Its terror terror all the time in this country. We are literally being terrorized into submission. I didnt watch one thing about 9/11 but I did post several blogs about the dogs that gave their lives for us in the aftermath. Al Jazeera had a great article today about the subject. It basically states 9/11 didnt start till 9/12 when the war drums started beating.

In order to heal we must forgive. Not by saying being attacked was OK, but letting go and moving on. It has been about revenge, these wars, and NOT protecting our citizens. It is all about controlling us through fear. We have become criminals matching or surpassing the original 9/11 crime.
