According to Patricia Murphy, "The committee is so secretive that even people whose jobs it is to know everything in Washington -- reporters, lobbyists, and other members of Congress -- know virtually nothing about what the six Democrats and six Republicans have discussed or ruled in or out in their search for cuts to federal spending and a possible rewrite of the tax code."
This joint select committee on deficit reduction so far hasn't leaked which agency's head gets chopped going into the final 30 days. No one has a clue as to what the secret super committee is doing to slash $1.2 trillion from the nation's budget.
