The Taj Mahal, built by Muslim rulers entirely of white marble, is regarded as one of the eight wonders of the world, and some historians have surmised that it has never been replicated.  The structure was built by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife and queen Mumtaz Mahal; it was completed in 1648 C.E. at a cost of 32 million rupees (today worth $1.2 million) by master architect Ustad ‘Isa.

The Taj stands on a raised, square platform (186 x 186 feet) with its four corners truncated, forming an unequal octagon. The architectural design uses the interlocking arabesque concept, in which each element stands on its own and perfectly integrates with the main structure. It uses the principles of self-replicating geometry and a symmetry of architectural elements.

Also worth seeing is Napal.  Nepal civilization stretches back thousands of years before the birth of Christ. As the popular legend goes, the original settlers of the Kathmandu Valley were the Kirantis, who were later succeeded by the Lichhavis who, in turn, were succeeded by the Mallas. In 1769 the Shah Dynasty ascended the throne of the unified Kingdom. The present King of Nepal, His Majesty King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Deva, is the tenth King in the Shah Dynasty. Nepal is a country of amazing extremes.

SATTE is in its 19th year and this year will be held from February 10-12, 2012 in New Delhi and at Mumbai from February 15-16, 2012 and covers 16,500 square miles making it India’s largest travel and tourism event.  This event brings business to business organizations from all over the world, representing:

It will be a great place to make a deal while vacationing and relaxing in Asia and for those of you who live in northern parts of the United States and other parts of the globe, it would be a great time as well to enjoy a little warmth and sunshine.

You do not have to be in the 1% to travel abroad these days.  There are affordable packages out there, you just have to spend a little time looking around for them.  It also helps if you are in a position to be able to leave at non-peak travel times.  Foreign countries only know America from the armies that we send into their lands, not the "human" side, the soft compassionate, caring side of those Americans who do not just live on burgers and beer.

WHAT!? No burgers and beer?!!!!!
When Obama finally gets around to taking away our guns and Bibles, that will be the end of America.

Actually there may be a burger place over there and every country has beer - both are found at the hotels for tourists.

I doubt any President will be able to repeal the 2nd amendment... as far as Bibles are concerned, I believe he wants to keep the Bible but have Korans available...

Having a Bible is like having a gun, there of no use unless you know how to use it.

I'm saving my trip to India, when I have to become a "medical tourist" as in, I cant afford medical care here, so I go there for a pittance of what it would cost here. At that time I will take the time to relish that country. Till then, just have to bide my time and dream
