Senator Chuck Grassley recently said (after the Boston
Marathon bombing) that the US needs to
"beef up
security checks on people who would enter the United States." The
Iowa senator added that the unfolding events "will help shed light on the weaknesses in our
system."
Alex Conant, the spokesman for Sen. Marco Rubio, spoke
out against Grassley’s bad timing:
"The situation
in Boston is still developing and it's too soon to jump to conclusions, let
alone use the tragedy to make political points."
