Lobbyists, Entitlements, and Socialism

It is pretty much an acceptable fact that there are more registered Democrats in America than registered Republicans; and, among those that are not registered at all, it is widely presumed that these types of voters would vote Democratic if and when they could be encouraged to vote.

It is also widely perceived and ultimately believe that many votes are being manipulated through a variety of tactics such as the zoning laws or being paid or strongly encouraged to cast votes in a certain direction.

However, I would suspect that in Presidential Elections that a vast majority of Americans know nothing of the Electoral College and their Constitutional ability to elect a President that may or may not agree with the public's vote... but, that is another story for another time.

So, if you were a Republican going up against this majority of Democrats, you would do whatever you could do to discredit their candidate and keep them from casting straight party line votes which is obviously done by playing up the name but not the party so it is difficult to know on what side of the fence that they really stand.

Another tactic is to play up gun rights, abortion, and same sex marriage because those are panic buttons of the general public.

So, how would Republicans get the Unions to vote their way when typically Republicans and Big Business are synonymous with each other and Big Business literally HATES Unions?

Answer: Make the other side look worse.

This is done by PACS, Super PACS, and Lobbyists.... But, there are all three of these organizations on each side of the fence, although I am not sure if the distribution is equal.

Some of the biggest lobbyists are:

• The NRA
• The Insurance (Health & Life) Lobby
• The Pharmaceutical Lobby
• The Tobacco Lobby
• The Farmers (Cattle and Crops) Lobby
• The AFL/CIO Lobby
• The Civil Liberties Lobby
• The Anti-Abortion Lobby
• The Defense Contractor Lobby

Some of these Lobbyist are on the side of Democrats and some are on the side of Republicans but the general public must figure out on their own which side they actually represent... while the lobby itself is trying to keep that quiet and stay focused on the issues that may be slanted just a “tad.”

So, this brings us to Entitlements which is what the Federal Government allocates out of the general budget which comes into the budget via TAXES. And, some of us or them argue that Entitlements is nothing more than a form of SOCIALISM....

So, what is Socialism and is it really as bad as “they” claim it to be?

For this definition, I am turning my old pals Merriam-Webster who claim it to be the following:

Socialism is a way of organizing a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies.

Full Definition of SOCIALISM

1 – any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods


2 – a system of society or group living in which there is no private property or a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state


3 – a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done...

• Business Bailouts

In a Socialistic Society, you are allowed to receive these services even if you paid no taxes at all...

And, another word for this taking place falls under the word: Entitlements.

So, if you are a Republican Voter or potential voter, how many of you have heard Republicans say that they are trying their “damnest” to keep America from becoming a Socialistic country? Well, it was the Republican votes as well as the Democratic votes that has approved ALL these Socialistic activities that are currently in place... and, our elected officials KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that all of the people currently receiving Social Security payments represent both parties and if there is any kind of Bill that is introduced from either Party to reduce SS payments that those elected officials will instantly have a lot of enemies.

And, this is true with most of our current entitlements... so, both parties know that the BUDGET each and every year must include these entitlements as “non negotiable” line items and defer any changes to those elected officials down-the-road who will eventually be put into a “negotiable” position. Why do these “fat cats” want to act like this?

Very simple... they, like you, do not want to lose their jobs!!!

Americans DO NOT want to give up or reduce any of their ENTITLEMENTS but they want the other person who is receiving an entitlement that they are not to be willing to have their entitlement reduced... and, therein lies our problem...

Our financial crisis was cause by business greed and speculation and when it “backfired” no one went to jail and the Federal Government “bailed out” those business because Economists told them that if they did not, it would be financial disaster for most Americans... So, our Federal Government used your tax dollars to help these business that were poor stewards of your money, many of which (companies of course) paid fewer taxes than you did.

And we, THE PEOPLE (that are strongly mention in the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution) stood by and watched it happen... thinking we were powerless to stop it...

But... not to worry... because there will be many more opportunities down-the-road for Americans to put an end to all the Entitlements that they are receiving (sometimes demanding) from the Federal Government that has actually pushed this country into a direction that none of us ever really wanted but which we have now got... thanks to US and our elected officials...
